This Christmas Tree Cholla has a very thin, twiggy stems in a mass of one inch long shimmering golden spines. Green flowers followed by ABUNDANT red fruit. 2-4 feet high and wide. Zone 5. This form is from far north in Quay Co., NM. (Grummons).  Sold as 2.5″ pot or unrooted cuttings (when available.)
Plant this with OP024 Cylindropuntia leptocaulis (Short Spined Form) to provide good pollination. This will ensure heavy fruit set.
